WCCC is opening the CARES Act emergency grant funding application process for the fall of 2020 on August 6, 2020. CARES Act funding was a response by the United States Department of Education to assist students in continuing their education during COVID-19. Because CARES Act emergency funds are federally-funded, eligibility is restricted by the U.S. Department of Education to students who meet the general eligibility criteria below. One example of CARES Act emergency funds is to request for items such technology (laptop, desktop computer, printer, ink, and etc.). Technology funds for the fall of 2020 are based on computer requirements for each major. If you have additional request outside of technology, please explain the needs. Thank you
Based on the program of study, below, students may apply up to the following amounts:
- Computer Technology: $1,800
- Automotive Technology, Engine Specialist, Heating Technology, Heavy Equipment Maintenance and Operations, Residential and Commercial Electricity, Powersports and Small Engine Repair, and Welding Technology: $900
- Programs not listed above: $500
You can view minimum technology standards here.
