Description
This course provides a survey of some of the important literature of Eastern Maine and seeks to provide an understanding of the unique culture and attributes of this region through the works of a number of writers. This course will provide insight into the historical and cultural underpinnings of the DownEast region. Discussions of the literature will provide opportunities for comparison of each individual writer's style and ample opportunity to discuss the portrayal by each author of the peoples and cultures in the eastern regions of Maine.
