Description

This course will analyze the concepts of diversity, social equity, and social justice. It will examine these concepts as they relate to school structure and organization, to curriculum development, to classroom management, and to considering our own personal ideologies and philosophies. It will identify and examine different types of curriculum audits used by schools, and equity audits used by businesses, organizations, and communities. Participants in this class will come together to explore hard and uncomfortable concepts with the goal of making childcare centers and schools versatile and robust learning environments for all learners. Prerequisite: EDU170 Trauma Informed Schools with a C or better or instructor permission. This course is offered by the WCCC Division of Workforce & Professional Development.
